To begin With I will start out by sharing a little about
myself. I was born in Pasadena Texas and my parents move to a small town called
Petal Mississippi when I was only five. There I learned the level of misery a small
town can create for someone who is mildly intelligent and doesn't conform to the
statistical prep norm of a small, god fearing, self righteous, hypocritical, southern
town. That is not to say that all of the people there were bad or in general wished
ill on me. Let us just say that an overwhelming number of vocal community fit the
above description. From there I just recently moved to Memphis Tennessee to work and must
say it is fairly entertaining but smaller than I had first imagined. Having been to
Houston TX and seeing what a real City looks like you just keep thinking that there is
something similar.
Now on to what started
my quest to the creation of the pages you see before you. Well I started as most did
just playing around trying to see what I could do and began to create a small web site
that consisted of a whole three pages. Most likely to the dismay of anyone who
managed to find my little corner then, there was no original content. It was
serving no purpose but to show really cool graphics that I had stolen from other sites and
some links to some of those sites. Well then I began to try to show my poetry to my
English Professor who was actually the poetry editor for the George Town Review.
Well let me begin by saying he wasn't exactly impressed with my Poetic prose. I
believe the first words from his mouth was, " I bet you haven't written more than a
dozen poems." Well you can image this did nothing for my ego and little for my
pride. So I decided to begin Poetic Despair. It started as a place for me to
post my Poetry and get some feed back from the public about whether I was talented or not.
Suprisingly enough I received a lot of positive feed back on my generally negative
poetry. Then a Friend asked would I put her poem here and the next thing you know I
have found that there are a good many poets who have quite a bit to say and no place to
say it. So they turn to the internet and here I am.
Well as for now that is
all the editorial there is soon to come are my social political rants and so forth.
So do check back and if I get too far behind drop me a letter and ask what is taking me so
long. Sometime I forget that occasionally there are people that actually like what
I write and would like to hear more. So fare well for now.
